We are seeking an experienced and self motivated team member to administer the billing in the family department.
The successful candidate will be responsible for each stage of the billing process from the conclusion of the case to closing the matter. Candidates are not expected to draft complex bills but some straightforward bill preparation is preferred.
Specific duties include the preparation and monitoring of cases sent to and returned from the Law Costs Draftsman, Court and Legal Services Commission and answering any billing queries that arise in both publicly funded and private matters.
Reporting to the partners and manager in the family department, this is a key role and one that requires outstanding organisation and numeracy skills and an ability to communicate effectively and confidently. Candidates must have strong IT skills and be competent in using IT systems to report on each stage of the billing process and report the findings to their line manager. Applicants must have previous experience of a administrative role preferably in a publicly funded environment, an ability to use IT systems effectively and some bill drafting experience is desirable.
